Comments

The inaugural address of Antioch's second president (succeeding Horace Mann, who died in office). Hill established something of a tradition of embattled Antioch college presidents that continued down through the college's recent demise, resigning in 1862 because of financial difficulties and conflict with the church governing bodies.
